Bustown Music gears first major promotion
___________________________________
BusTown Music is an affiliate of Code 10 Studios, and a supporter of local talent in and around the Columbus area's music scene. This press-release was written by Joshua Weiker, Bustown Music's Chief Editor. Please read this article in full, and if you are in the Columbus area on the 19th, consider visitng what is sure to be a dynamic and memorable evening.
Created in March 2011, BusTown Music is an organization of local musicians, producers, managers, and music enthusiasts, who are dedicated to capturing amazing local live performances throughout Central Ohio. While our website is in development, we showcase an ever-growing library of written reviews, photos, videos, and live audio recordings of some of Columbus’s most featured bands, venues, and events through our extensions via Blogs and Podcasts.
Over the past four months, we have grown from initial ‘what-if’ concepts, to offering three radio shows [The Evan Oberla Show, BusTown Jazz & Improv with Aaron Quinn, and BusTown Radio], as well as a sub-division of columns called BusTown Reviews. With this as just the beginning, and much on the horizon, we are beginning to see the true potential of BusTown Music and what could become an organization of tremendous value.
As we continue to position ourselves towards becoming an integral contributor to the Columbus music scene, we would also like to incorporate as many local businesses, organizations, and individuals as possible. If you love music, and would like to help see local performances flourish, then we welcome you to join our cause at BusTown.
Our first major promotional and fundraising opportunity will be hosted at Skully’s Music Diner (located in the Short North), on August 19th, 2011. This event will feature three of the city’s most entertaining acts: G. Finesse & the N.S., The L.E.S. Crew, and MojoFlo. Aside from offering spectacular live music, we would like the event to be a night to remember, featuring local performers, artists, and merchants. Some of these services may come as donation, others as barter, but most will take some funding. As a contributor to BusTown Music, your donation or sponsorship will help incur the various costs of our first event, as well as go towards the much needed purchases and upgrading of BusTown recording and production equipment.
We hope to hear back from you, and anticipate the possibilities of collaborating in the future. We are open to discussing details of this event, as well as the possibility of promoting or covering any upcoming events you may have. We believe in Columbus and our community, and we are hoping to find some members that are willing to believe in us, and share our vision of a greater and more collectively involved city.
